ArchivesPetron expands Lakbay Alalay into year-round program

In line with Petron Corporation’s mission to be the leading provider of total customer solutions in the energy sector, the company is expanding its trademark Lakbay Alalay program into a full-blown, year-round campaign.

Now billed as Lakbay Alalay, Kasama Mo Sa Biyahe, the expanded program includes a slate of activities reaching far beyond the traditional motorist assistance services for Holy Week. Through this program, Petron hopes to strengthen the bond of companionship and unity with Filipinos everywhere, not just during the Holy Week but in all aspects of their daily lives.

For 2012, the following campaigns have been lined up by Petron:

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kaligtasan. Petron volunteers will be offering emergency assistance during Holy Week (April 5-9) at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). Services will include free roadside assistance and  free towing services. Participating Petron service stations nationwide offer free vehicle safety checks year-round to help motorists ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy and safe for travel. And, in the event that you encounter difficulties on the road, Petron will be there to extend a helping hand. Given that summer is now starting to be rainy, Petron Lakbay Alalay will be there to remind holiday drivers: “Rain or  Shine—Drive Safely!”

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kalusugan. In partnership with the Red Cross, Petron will also be providing medical booths at Petron service stations located with the NLEX, SLEX and Star Tollway during the Holy Week (April 5-9).

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Turismo. Petron is fully-supporting the Department of Tourism’s efforts to promote the provinces in the country as fun tourist destinations. Star Toll cards have been designed to promote key destinations in the Philippines, while welcome streamers and banners will be greeting visitors to Bulacan, Pampanga, La Union, Pangasinan, Baguio City, Laguna, Batangas, Naga City,  Palawan, Cebu and Davao.

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Masayang Pagdiriwang. Petron will also be showcasing the calendar of fiestas in the Philippines, in further support of the government’s tourism promotion efforts.

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Tahanan. Petron is reaching out to local communities through outreach programs at selected barangays within Metro Manila. During the Community Awareness Symposium, Petron representatives will discuss safety measures for LPGs and lubricants. The Bureau of Fire Protection will also present useful information for avoiding household fires. After the symposium, Petron will conduct LPG leak checks and free change oil for automobiles. Petron Blaze Boosters team members will be on hand for a meet-and-greet. The schedule for the community visits are: March 30-Bgy. Hagonoy, Taguig City; March 30-Bgy. Manggahan, Pasig City; March 31-Bgy. UP Campus, Quezon City; March 31-Bgy. 598, Sta. Mesa, Manila; and April 1-Bgy. Greater Lagro, Quezon City.

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kalikasan. This component will include barangay clean up drives in selected communities in Metro Manila. In partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), gassing up in Petron will entitle the customer to a free Lakbay Alalay sticker and a seedling to be named after him. Volunteers from Petron and other groups will join together for a tree-planting activity in Cebu (May 25), Davao (May 26) and Tanay, Rizal (May 27). A Lakbay Alalay fun run will also be held on June 17, 2012 to boost awareness of clean air.

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kaalaman. Petron’s back-to-school program will provide professional drivers an opportunity to redeem useful items for their kids. Targetted at professional drivers of commercial vehicles (jeep, van, FX, multicab, tricycle, solo rider, etc.), a P250-single receipt purchase of fuel entitles the qualified customer to a Super Tsuper Card. At subsequent visits, the customer can earn stamps which can be exchanged for rewards from April 1 to June 30, 2012.  One Super stamp may be earned via (a) a minimum single purchase of 25-liters of fuel, or (b) a single purchase of 4-liters gasoline/engine oil or 1-liter motorcycle oil. The rewards offered are: 4 stamps = Magnolia Water; 8 stamps = hand towel; 16 stamps = raincoat; and 20 stamps = notebook / pencil case / school bag. Rewards may be claimed only at the station where the Super Tsuper Card was issued.

Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kabuhayan. To generate the perfect bond between Petron and the youth, Petron will host a job fair for interested participants sometime in August-September 2012.
