Sky Cable Corporation donated installation kits of SKYdirect, its newest direct-to-home service to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to give them nationwide access to news and information in support of their call of duty to serve the country.

Through SKYdirect, AFP troops deployed in various locations across the Philippines including Basilan, Jolo, Tawi-Tawi, Ilocos Norte, and Samar, among others will have nationwide access to vital news and in-depth information through the wide channel variety of SKYdirect all in digital quality, including a select number in high definition.

“We know how important it is for the AFP to have seamless access to information especially in remote areas in the Philippines. With the help of SKYdirect, AFP troops will be connected to quality information and entertainment,” said Sky Cable Corporation chief operating officer March Ventosa.

“We hope SKYdirect will create a difference in your pursuit to continuously offer excellent service for Filipinos,” he added.

Meanwhile, AFP vice chief of staff Lt. Gen. Glorioso Miranda expressed his gratitude to Sky Cable for recognizing their role and service to the Filipino people.

He remarked, “A lot of you here recognize the sacrifices of our troops and I am delighted with your donation to the AFP. This (SKYdirect) will contribute a lot to our troops.”

Lt. Gen. Miranda received the SKYdirect kits together with AFP major services representatives Col. Jose Benavidez (AFP General Headquarters) Col. Vener Odillon Mariano (Philippine Army), Col. Gerso Lopez (Philippine Air Force), and commander Gualterio Dela Cruz (Philippine Navy) in behalf of Gen. Hernando Delfin Iriberri.
