Digital lending platform Cashalo has reached more than 10 million registered members as it continues expanding its financial services and loan offerings nationwide.
Since its launch in 2018, the platform has granted over 6 million loans and disbursed more than PHP30 billion in credit, reflecting sustained demand for digital lending and mobile-first financial services across diverse customer segments.
The milestone comes as fintech companies continue playing a larger role in improving access to credit for underserved consumers and small businesses in the Philippines.
Expanding beyond short-term lending
Cashalo is broadening its lending portfolio beyond short-term cash loans by introducing larger loan amounts with longer repayment flexibility. The expansion is intended to help both consumers and micro businesses manage larger expenses, investments, and financial emergencies.

Gabriel Ayala, general manager of Cashalo, said many users initially relied on the platform for day-to-day financial needs such as groceries and inventory purchases, but demand for larger and more flexible financing options continues growing.
“We believe there is a much larger underserved need in allowing customers to afford investments or handling shocks that can change lives, like opening a new business or being able to get life saving healthcare treatment,” Ayala said.
Leadership and fintech experience
Cashalo appointed Ayala as general manager in 2025 as part of its next phase of growth. Before joining Cashalo, Ayala led business operations at Cash App in the United States, one of the country’s largest consumer fintech platforms. His experience is expected to support Cashalo’s push toward broader digital credit services and platform expansion.
“Our goal is to build the leading consumer credit platforms in the country,” Ayala said. “To do this, we focus on building secure and reliable products that are tailored to the specific needs of Filipino customers across their different credit needs.”
Focus on transparency and consumer lending
As the regulatory environment for digital lending continues evolving, Cashalo is aligning its products and pricing with updated lending guidelines focused on fairness and transparency.
The company also continues developing repayment support features for eligible borrowers, including loan restructuring and payment date adjustment options.
Its broader approach centers on responsible lending practices while improving financial access for users across different income groups and regions.
Growing digital financial access in the Philippines
Operated by Paloo Financing Inc., Cashalo is a licensed financing company regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The platform offers digital credit services aimed at supporting both personal and business-related financial needs through mobile-first access.
Cashalo continues expanding its digital lending services as fintech adoption grows across the Philippines.
