From “Google it” to “Ask AI,” a Truelogic study shows how AI is changing brand discovery in the Philippines
AI is becoming a bigger part of how Filipino consumers discover brands online. A 12-month Truelogic study found that mentions of Philippine brands in Google AI Overviews increased more than 23-fold in 2025.
WHAT THE STUDY FOUND
Over the same period, organic branded traffic across 80 Philippine websites declined by three to eight percent. The trends occurred in parallel, but the study did not establish a direct cause-and-effect relationship.
The study tracked 80 brands across seven sectors, with retail, e-commerce, and real estate recording the strongest growth in AI visibility. Brands with stronger AI visibility generally had high brand search interest, clearly structured content, and well-optimized websites.
“Being found is no longer just about ranking for the right keywords,” said Bernard San Juan III, managing partner of Truelogic. “AI is more likely to surface brands it can understand and trust. This means businesses need to make their expertise easy to verify, organize their content around the questions customers ask, and remain consistently present across credible sources, from news coverage and reviews to social media.”
FROM SEO TO AI-READY SEARCH
Traditional search gives users a list of links to explore. AI search lets consumers ask conversational questions and get curated answers, comparisons, and recommendations in a single response.
The Digital 2026 report by We Are Social, Meltwater, and GWI found that 42.4 percent of surveyed Filipino internet users reported using ChatGPT in the previous month, placing the Philippines sixth globally.
That shift is pushing brands to go beyond traditional SEO. Ranking well in search results still matters, but brands must also make sure AI platforms can understand their content, verify their expertise, and recognize them as credible sources.
BRANDS THAT MOVED EARLY
Truelogic’s client work reflects the same shift. Across 40 projects, its clients recorded a 750 percent increase in AI visibility from January to July 2025, compared with a 400 percent average across Philippine websites during the same period.
Among these clients, a leading Philippine bank achieved the highest AI share of voice within its peer group at 38.1 percent. A major property developer captured a 53.38 percent AI share of voice across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, which is 3.8 times higher than its closest competitor.
Neither size nor legacy guarantees leadership in AI search. As AI platforms mature, Philippine brands that build authority, structure their content for AI, and stay consistently present across credible channels will be better positioned to appear in AI-generated answers and recommendations.

HOW THE STUDY WAS DONE
Truelogic tracked monthly Google AI Overview mentions for 80 Philippine brands across seven sectors from January to December 2025. It also reviewed organic branded traffic across 80 Philippine websites during the same period. AI share of voice refers to a brand’s share of mentions and citations in AI-generated responses compared with a defined group of peer brands. Client names were withheld at their request.
