WD is celebrating the 10th annum of its incredibly popular and award-winning line of portable hard drives (HD), the My Passports, by releasing two special commemorative editions: The My Passport Ultra-Metal and My Passport Ultra-Anniversary editions. The Metal and Anniversary editions are clad in an aluminum enclosure patterned with a radial spin that makes them both eye-candy and life-resistant. For the added peace of mind of the on-the-go consumer, the drives have hardware encryption and password protection for data security against unauthorized use and theft. They also support WD’s SmartWare Pro software that enables users to easily sync files between their drive and Dropbox account.

“Ten years is a milestone by any technology standard, but having the ability to consistently reinvent a product line like My Passport to suit the changing needs of consumers and creative professionals is something we are especially proud of,” said Tony Tate, general manager and vice president of WD’s content solutions group. “We thank all of our customers for their ongoing feedback over the years to help make My Passport one of the most popular hard drives ever. This feedback helped incorporate the latest beautiful industrial design with features, capacities, and security that truly meet the needs of today’s mobile consumer.”

Confident in their products durability, WD is offering a regional 3-year limited warranty for all My Passport Metal and Anniversary drives bought at select retailers and distributors in the country.  Both retail for PHP 4,590 for the 1TB option, and PHP 7,490 for 2TBs of portable storage space.
