DZMM Takbo Para Sa Karunungan takes off on March 23

DZMM is holding its third annual “Takbo Para sa Karunungan,” a fun run that will benefit 75 young scholars. The run will take place on Saturday, March 23, at 4 am at the Quirino Grandstand. This year’s event will raise funds to continue the scholarship of 25 students from Cagayan de Oro, which was recently hit by Typhoon Sendong, and will also support the study of 50 students from Metro Manila that was recently devastated by Typhoon Ondoy and the Habagat.

Kapamilya TV host Kim Atienza will lead the runners on the event. Joining him are DZMM anchors Gerry Baja, Karen Davila, Winnie Cordero, and others. Before the launch of “Takbo Para sa Karunungan” in 2011, DZMM started organizing the annual “Takbo Para sa Kalikasan” in 1999. The run was also for the benefit of projects involving the environment, such as the continued rehabilitation of the La Mesa watershed and the Pasig Rehabilitation Project through ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Bantay Kalikasan.”

Runners of all skill levels can choose to join in the 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km race categories. The standard registration rates are P450, P550, and P600 respectively. Students will only need to pay P300. Cash prizes will be given to the individual top winners and participating largest government organizations, non-government organizations, and school contingents. To register, visit http://www.dzmm.com.ph or call the secretariat at 4152272 local 5674 and 5641.

Canon unveils new PIXMA office printers

Earlier this week at the Annex at SM North EDSA, Canon launched a fresh line-up of multifunctional office printers: the MX927, MX527, MX457, MX397, and the Ink Efficient E610.

All new printer models can not only print, but also scan, copy and fax. Aside from these primary functions, these printers are packed with miscellaneous features that aim to enhance the productivity in the work place or in one’s home office. One of which is a fully integrated automatic document feeder (ADF)—found in all the printer models in the new line-up—that can automatically print, scan and copy up to 30 pages in one push of a button.

In fax mode, all models are equipped with a security feature that asks users to enter the fax number twice to ensure that the document is being sent to the correct recipient. Also adding another layer of protection to confidential files is a feature that lets users create password-protected PDF documents.

    PIXMA MX397

Three of these models, namely: the PIXMA MX397, MX527 and MX457, have wireless printing capabilities. Using Google Cloud Print and Apple Airprint, users can print files directly from their smartphones and tablets on these PIXMA models via Wi-Fi. Except for the MX457, these printers gives users access to the PIXMA Cloud Link— a wireless connectivity feature which enables users to print photos directly from selected online albums and have access to printable online templates.

    PIXMA MX527

    PIXMA MX457

Targeting those who need to print in large volumes, the PIXMA Ink Efficient E610 is a model which requires less cartridge replacements than other lower-capacity printers as it allows users to print up to 800 pages per black cartridge and 400 per colored cartridge. The Ink Efficient E610 features a FastFront design wherein in the ink tank is placed at the front panel of the device for easy access when cartridges need to be checked or replaced.

    PIXMA Ink Efficient E610

The PIXMA MX927 features more advanced functionality compared to the other printers in the line-up. It has a Double Front Paper Cassette that lets users load two different sizes of paper at the same time without having to tweak printing properties. It is also able to print up to 35 pages at a time and has an auto-duplex function for printing, scanning and copying. The Direct Disc Print function in the MX927 allows users to print directly onto a printable CD, DVD, or Blu-ray disc.

    PIXMA MX927

Together with the MX527, the MX927 hosts a Dual Function Panel in addition to the LCD screen. This panel allows users to adjust the buttons on the menu depending on a certain situation. For example, when in print mode, certain buttons may serve as navigation keys, but in fax mode, they may be used as number keys.

The new PIXMA printers are equipped with new programs that help users design, enhance, and organize photos and documents. Canon’s My Image Garden software, for instance, not only helps you sort scanned photos and documents, but also enhances the color of faded photographs.  The Print Your Days software, meanwhile, helps users assemble photo collages with an array of layout templates and background patterns to choose from.

All the new printer models utilize Canon’s signature Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE).

The prices of the new PIXMA printers are as follows:

    • MX927 — PHP 12,995
    • MX527 — PHP 7,995
    • MX457 — PHP 5,995
    • MX397 — PHP 4,995
    • Ink Efficient E610 — PHP 5,995

Google holds seminar with Philippine legislators on digital connectivity

Google Philippines, along with the office of Senator Pia Cayetano, held an exclusive seminar with Philippine legislators to help them leverage online tools to reach their constituencies both at home and abroad. Google emphasized the advantage of using online tools to reach the 33 million Filipinos that are on the Internet, along with the 11 million Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) abroad.

The seminar focused on how Google Search, Google+ Hangouts and YouTube can be used to engage better with the people and allow them to interact with government officials and participate in nation building.

“We want to help our public servants learn how to reach the Filipino people through the Internet by understanding the digital landscape in the Philippines and the online behavior of Filipinos. Filipinos are very technologically-savvy. They are constantly online. And the better way to engage with Pinoys about issues that concern them is to meet them where they are—online, whether on their laptops or mobile phones,” said Narciso Reyes, the Country Manager for Google Philippines.

Mobile penetration in the Philippines is at 111%, and two-thirds of mobile users have Internet-enabled devices. In a 2011 study by Decision Fuel and InMobi, Filipinos spend 54 percent of their time online on laptops and mobile phones. They spend 27 percent of their time watching TV, 13 percent watching radio, and six percent reading newspapers.

“As a public servant, I want to make sure that I am accessible to the people, and at the same time get feedback from them, especially those who spend a lot of time on social networks,” said Senator Pia Cayetano, who maintains a website, blog, Facebook page, YouTube channel, and a Twitter account. “I believe that creating a presence on the Internet will not only help us get closer to our constituencies and interact with them, it will also help them become educated about our programs.”

“We hope Philippine legislators will be able to use the Internet to strengthen communication and engagement with their constituents. We also want to help Filipinos make informed decisions about issues that affect them, especially this election season,” said Deborah Nga, Country Lead for Public Policy and Government Affairs in the Philippines for Google Southeast Asia.

Google also showed how other countries like the United States, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia have launched similar campaign strategies using Search, YouTube and Google+ to engage with their constituents in their recent elections.

Sony officially launches three new cameras and introduces three ambassadors to back each up

    0

Sony Philippines formally launched three new full-frame cameras, and introduced their three newest brand ambassadors behind each device, at a media and camera club event in Makati yesterday.

Sony’s first ambassador was Pilar Tuason. Pilar is one of the country’s most respected and sought-after wedding, portrait and fashion photographers. She won the first award for Photographer of the year in 2003 from the Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines Association, and was a student of Classical Portraiture under the late, great Monte Zucker. Her highly technical demands necessitate the best equpment the industry has to offer, and as such Sony’s Alpha99 is the perfect fit. Its Single Lens Traslucent (SLT) technology removes vibration when taking shots, and the lack or an articulating mirror means that her eye is on the shot 100 percent of the time, every single time. This cuts down on time having to check the camera’s screen after every shot, and greatly expedites her shoots. The Alpha99 also gives her an amazing array of lenses, ensuring she has exactly the one she needs for every situation. The Full Frame technology lets Pilar take in the whole shot, with no cropping, chopped elements or framing problems to worry about, in 24,3 megapixel clarity.

The second ambassador is Manny Librodo, a man lauded by Scott Kelby in 2009 as one of the five best photographers (that you probably haven’t heard about). His purely ambient light style of photography demands nothing but the best equipment; something that Sony offered in spades. While a professional photographer by trade, and one of the best in the business, Manny admits that he is not very technical in his approach, so apart from his own Alpha99 and its arsenal of features, Manny likes to use the Sony Cyber-shot RX1. The RX1, in his own words, is just too small for what it can do; that is, give scary-sharp, full frame performance at par with large-frame SLRs. The RX1 gives Manny excellent color reproduction, easy-to-master manual controls and even the ability to shoot full-HD video. The sharp sensor, along with an ISO range of 100 all the way to a staggering 25600 lets Manny take spectacular photos even when light is a problem.

The final brand ambassador is renowned Filipino Filmmaker Pepe Diokno, whose debut film Engkwentro, won the Lion of the Future (Luigi de Laurentis) award at the 2009 Venice Film Festival, the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the 2010 Jeonju International Film Festival, and the Gawad Urian for Best Editing. Pepe’s Sony of choice is the NEX-VG900 E-mount Interchangeable lens full-HD camcorder. This full-frame camera is capable of beautiful HD video at a24.3 megapixels, and can shoot in 25/24p progressive mode. Pepe says that he, as a filmmaker and director loves how the camera can record such high-quality audio with nothing more than the on-board Quad Capsule Spatial Array Microphone. The staggering video and audio quality lets Pepe shoot award-winning videos with nothing more than this single handheld tool. If the situation and his needs change, he can simply swap out a lens, and his man-on-the-street video camera instantly changes to a documentary or interview setup.

All three cameras allow photographers and cinematographers unparalleled versatility, image quality and ease of use not afforded them by other brands, but don’t take our word for it. Listen to the experts.

The DSC-RX1 and Alpha99 will be available for PHP 139,999, and the NEX-VG900 will be available for PHP149,999 by the end of February 2013

Lenovo introduces touchscreen multimedia IdeaPad Z Series laptops

Lenovo announced the launch of its latest touch-optimized IdeaPad Z Series laptops, the IdeaPad Z400 and Z500. “Our slim IdeaPad Z touchscreen series equipped with Windows 8 is a testament to Lenovo’s long term commitment of driving innovation by expanding into new form factors as we lead the way to the PC+ era,” Vicky Agorrilla, the country general manager of Lenovo Philippines said. “The Z Series blends fashion, form, and function to address the evolving needs of Filipino consumers looking for a slim, versatile and intuitive personal computer with great multimedia and multi-touch features at a competitive price point.”

    The Lenovo IdeaPad Z400

Both the IdeaPad Z400 and Z500 are slimmer than a standard notebook, but do not compromise on performance. The IdeaPad Z400 has a third generation Intel Core i7 CPU and a 14-inch LED backlit HD widescreen display, while the Z500 has an Intel Core i5 CPU and a 15-inch LED backlit HD widescreen display. Both come with 1 TB of hard drive storage, and are equipped with the latest NVIDIA GeForce technology and the Windows 8 operating system.

    The Lenovo IdeaPad Z500

The IdeaPad Z400 (non-touch) is available now for only PHP 29,995, while the Z500 (non-touch) will be available at the end of February 2013 for PHP 37,995. The touchscreen version of the IdeaPad Z400 with Intel Core i3 will retail for PHP 36,995, and its Intel Core i5 version will retail for PHP 41,995, and will be available at the end of April. Thes IdeaPads come in colors such as Coral Blue, Dark Chocolate, Peony Pink and Enamel White.

From February 25 to March 30, 2013, customers who purchase a Lenovo IdeaPad Z400 or Z500 can get three Lenovo computer accessories, such as the Lenovo P720 headest, Lenovo M060 speaker and the Lenovo N3903A mouse. Each purchase also entitles the customer to three raffle tickets to win a special night in town with ten friends on board the party limo with dinner at Aracama Filipino Cuisine located at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City and an after-dinner party at Budda Bar.

    PlayStation 4 revealed

Sony said that they would make a big announcement on February 20, and they did—they announced their next console, the PlayStation 4 (PS4). Although the console itself nor even photos of the console were revealed at the event—that’s something that will probably be done at May’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)—we had enough information to at least form some expectations for Sony’s console.

    The specs

Despite not seeing the console itself, the PS4’s specs were revealed. The specs seem closer to that of a gaming PC, as consoles seek to close a widening gap between them and custom-built gaming PCs. According to Engadget, the PS4 will have an 8-core 64-bit x86 AMD “Jaguar” CPU and a Radeon GPU that can process 1.84 teraflops for quality graphics and gameplay processing. The PS4 will also come with 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM capable of processing up to 176 GB/sec of bandwidth. The console will also come with a Blu-ray drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi capabilities, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, optical out, and even legacy outputs such as an analog AV output. It is still unknown how much storage space will be on the PS4, although you can expect between 500 GB to 1 TB of storage space.

    Social gaming focus

The PS4 will take social gaming to new levels: the PlayStation will even allow you to help a friend having trouble with a game over the network by taking control of their character. You will be able to interact your tablets and smartphones with the PS4, although it was not clear whether the PS4 would support Sony-branded tablets and smartphones only or if other smartphones and tablets would be compatible with the console. Sony said it would also start relying more on the cloud, even though the console will come with a Blu-ray drive. “Our long-term vision is to reduce download times of digital titles to zero,” said Mark Cerny, Sony’s lead system architect on the PS4.

    The controller

One thing that was shown, however, was the new PS4 controller. The DualShock 4 has a new touchscreen added on to the controller, and another feature—a “Share” button. “The share button on the Playstation 4 controller will mean gamers can broadcast games 100% in real time to your friends. Your friends will be able to look over your shoulder and interact with you virtually while you play,” said Dave Perry, founder of Gaikai, Inc. Gaikai is a cloud gaming service that will be integrated with the PS4. Sony bought Gaikai in July 2012. Another feature that was included was a light bar, which can do advanced tracking of the movements of the controller.

    The games

The PS4 event also revealed some games. The first game, Knack, is a platformer. “It’s a little bit like Crash Bandicoot, and a little bit like Katamari Damacy…with a touch of God of War in there,” Cerny said. A short video of another game, Killzone: Shadowfall was revealed as well. Sucker Punch, a game developer that is known for producing the Sly Cooper and Infamous series of video games on PlayStation 2 (PS2) and PlayStation 3 (PS3), also revealed Infamous: Second Son, a PS4-exclusive title. Other titles included Driving Club, which seemed to be a very realistic racing game with a heavy focus on multiplayer; Media Molecule, which will use the PlayStation Move controller to help you sculpt 3D objects and characters in a virtual world; and Beyond: Two Souls, which was initially in development for the PS3, but has now moved to the PS4. Indie developers also got some significant airtime. Jonathan Blow’s (who also made Braid) The Witness is a puzzle game that is starting to draw many comparisons to one of the most popular puzzle games of all time, Myst. Other third party developers were also starting to chat up what they wanted to do with the PS4. For a full list of developers who are planning on making games for the PS4, you can click here. One of the more interesting tidbits of the conference was an announcement that Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo III was being ported to both the PS3 and the PS4.

There were still some unanswered questions about the PS4, such as the price or an exact release date, but we’re bound to know more information leading up to E3 in May and its predicted launch date, which will most likely be during the 2013 holiday season.

The HTC One unveiled: New UI, new camera, new audio!

    0

HTC pulled the curtains up on their newest flagship smartphone—the HTC One. The device sports a newly designed user interface and home screen, a power-packed display, improved audio and imaging performance, and the ability to become a TV remote.

The design of HTC One seems pretty sleek: it is only 9.3mm thin, has curved edges, and comes in silver, black and red (in Southeast Asia). Chugging along inside the One X is a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chip, clocked at 1.7GHz. It also has 2GB RAM and other 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.

HTC’s newest flagship phone hosts Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as its OS as well as a 4.7-inch Gorilla Glass-protected Full HD screen with a resolution of 468ppi. It’s interesting to note that the resolution of this device tops that of the iPhone 5, which packs a screen resolution of 326ppi, as well as HTC’s own Butterfly, which boasts of 440ppi.

HTC possibly increased the resolution of the screen so that users can better appreciate its new user interface (UI), Sense 5—or as HTC calls it, the “New Sense.” Bundled in this upgrade is the new BlinkFeed home screen, which won’t seem as strange and unfamiliar to those who have seen the Metro UI and Flipboard. Basically, BlinkFeed shows you updates from your feed and social networks in tiles, which means when you get a new Like on Facebook or your friend posts a photo of you, you’ll be able to see it and access it directly on the home screen. If you’re not really digging BlinkFeed, don’t turn your back on the HTC One just yet—users still have the option to revert to the traditional home screen.

One of the other highlights during the launch of the device apart from the new UI is the camera. HTC fashioned a new sensor that can capture three times more light than other shooters found in smartphones. This is due to the sensor’s enlarged pixels—HTC calls them UltraPixels—which enhances the camera’s performance particularly in low-light settings. The catch is that the resolution of the photos you take using the UltraPixel Camera is limited to only 4.0MP. Additionally, the UltraPixel Camera features optical image stabilization (OIS).

A new shooting mode in the One called HTC Zoe allows users to shoot HD videos while capturing stills at the same time. Upon pressing the shutter button, the camera takes up to 20 stills—five frames before you actually press the button, and 15 after you do—and a 3-second HD video.

To match the performance of the display and the camera, HTC also threw in a powerful set of cans into the One. Two stereo speakers, found on top and at the bottom of the screen. The sound is enhanced by Beats Audio (as always), but HTC decided to christen these smartphone-mounted stereo speakers with a new name: BoomSound.

Aside from the speaker upgrade, HTC throws in a new microphone in the One as well. Billed as Sense Voice, the HTC One’s dual built-in microphones can detect loud ambient noise and will then increase the level of the in-call voice to compensate, thereby enhancing audibleness and clarity when taking calls in a noisy environment.

Sense TV is also a new nugget that HTC introduced during the launch. This allows the HTC One to serve as a remote control for your smart TV, allowing users to surf and select channels using the device. The power/lock button doubles as an infrared (IR) emitter.

Connectivity options in the HTC One include Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC.

HTC claims that the One will be available globally beginning March.

HP launches three new enterprise devices in the Philippines

Hewlett-Packard (HP), one of the largest technology firms in the world, has revealed three new products to enterprise users to take on the go and to use in the office.

“HP offers three new devices that let busy professionals be productive wherever work takes them: The Officejet Pro X, the EliteBook Revolve and the ElitePad 900. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies that incorporate the latest technology to simplify tasks, improve productivity and reduce costs. These new devices enhance the capabilities, agility and efficiency of the modern professional in today’s mobile world,” said HP Country General Manager for Printing and Personal Systems Albert Mateo.

Printing at twice the speed and half the cost of common office laserjet printers, the HP Officejet Pro X series will boost productivity in the workplace. It redefines inkjet printing with HP PageWide technology so that the only thing moving is the paper. Wireless printing features like HP ePrint and Wireless Direct provide a hands-free, print-from-anywhere convenience for the globetrotting professional. The HP Officejet X Pro Series even holds a Guinness World Record—it can print at an astounding 70 pages per minute. It is also a multifunctional printer—it can also scan and copy documents as well.

HP’s EliteBook Revolve can be a notebook or a tablet depending on your preferences or whether you are in the home or office. It fits the business user well with its third-generation Intel® Core™ processors and is optimized by the Windows 8 Pro operating system. The EliteBook Revolve is also durable and light, with a chassis built from magnesium alloy and weighing only 3.04 lbs. It also comes equipped with a touch-enabled HD screen, a 720P HD camera, optional 4G LTE connectivity, USB 3.0, and full docking capabilities. It also won the Best Notebook Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 in Las Vegas earlier this year.

The HP ElitePad 900 is a tablet designed with business users in mind. Its ultra-thin, lightweight, and secure tablet platform is built with military-grade materials and powered by the latest Intel Atom processors and Windows 8 Pro. The ElitePad 900 combines manageability, security, and durability for the big new world of business. One of the most compelling features of the ElitePad 900 is its compatibility with desktop programs through its Intel x86-architecture, so users can run programs such as Microsoft Office to maximize productivity. Professionals can also view websites running on Adobe Flash and other multimedia content in full glory. HP also integrates sophisticated client security and management features expected of enterprise-grade tablets for quick deployment into corporate IT structures.

The ElitePad 900 can also be outfitted with several accessories, such as the HP ElitePad Productivity Jacket and Expansion Jacket. With these cases, the ElitePad 900 gains additional power through an extra ultra-slim battery that extends battery life to 19 hours, adds more ports for more connectivity options, and an integrated keyboard. There’s also the HP Executive Tablet Pen and the ElitePad Docking Station that converts the ElitePad 900 into a mini-tabletop computer.

All three products will be available locally in March. The HP Officejet Pro X 476dw will be priced at PHP 33,090, the EliteBook Revolve will be PHP 85,990 and the ElitePad 900 will be PHP 35,990.

Mac users might want to do this update right quick

    0

Apple was just targeted by a hacking attack this week. Their lab guys traced the breech back to a vulnerability within Java. They acted quick and shut said breech down that afternoon, before any damage could be done, but the troubling news is that this vulnerability exists in macs out in the wild now. Apple has, however, released the update to the general public HERE. Since it is a Java thing, you will need to close all web browsers and Java apps so the patch can do its magic, after which, everything should be just fine. The update is also available through the App Store, under the “Updates” tab. Apple has also said that the hackers in question may have been the same ones who targeted Facebook recently, so it would be a good idea to get on this posthaste. While you’re at it, update your iOS device too. You can never be too safe.

    iOS updated to 6.1.2! However…

    0

Apple users rejoice! iOS has just been updated to 6.1.2. This update “Fixes an Exchange calendar bug that could result in increased network activity and reduced battery life.” This is great and all, but the update doesn’t even mention THIS BUG that lets unscrupulous ne’er do wells bypass the lock screen and access all your i-device’s deepest, darkest secrets. It’s no secret that the bug exists, it has been confirmed and reconfirmed and repeated over and over, so it’s a little curious that they haven’t addressed this matter, but this is what we’ve got. On the bright side, it remains jailbreakable (though that’s another can of worms) so its not all bad. The update isn’t a bad idea if you’re on 6.1.1 anyway, just be a little extra careful with your phone. You should be able to access the update via your iDevice, but if you want legit confirmation, apple has the news HERE.

Canon holds first ever PIXMAzing Race

    0

Representatives from the media and Canon dealers sailed to Corregidor island for the first ever Canon PIXMAzing Race and the pre-launch of its new line of all-in-one PIXMA printers for the office last Saturday, February 16, 2013.

In an adventure-packed day, Canon showcased the new PIXMA models by grouping the participants into teams and embarking them on an adventure in an obstacle course to gather clues that lead to the final challenge, which required them to put the scanning and printing capabilities of the new PIXMA printers to the test.

The winners of the Canon PIXMAzing Race were given Canon PIXMA printers, IXUS digital cameras, as well as other prizes.

Partcipants were able to experience Canon’s new PIXMA line, which included the PIXMA MX897, MX527, MX457, MX927, whose wireless printing capabilities allow users to print photos and documents remotely from a PC, notebook, or mobile device. These models feature Google Cloud Print and Apple Airprint, allowing users to print files using their smartphones and tablets. The PIXMA MX927 has double-front paper casettes, thus allowing users to load two different paper sizes at the same time, plus a Dual Function Panel that lets users adjust the interface buttons to suit their needs. The PIXMA Ink Efficient E610 was also showcased at the event. This model requires less cartridge replacements, as compared to other low-capacity office printers.

At the end of the race, participants were given the opportunity to go sight seeing and print out photos of the trip using the wireless capabilities of the new PIXMA printers.

The last of their first quarter phones, the Titan TV, dwarfs the previous two devices, and is a 6-inch phablet that also runs a dual-core 1GHz processor, packs twice the RAM at 1GB, and is capable of 720p HD video recording, plus lets you watch TV through with the help of its cleverly-designed stylus/antenna combo. All three phones run Android ICS out of the box, so you have instant access to all the apps Google Play has to offer. The Burst, Thunder and Titan TV are all available at your nearest Cherry Mobile dealer or kiosk. (Forgive the lack of a shot of the Titan TV, There was no unit available at the time of the event. -Ren)

Take a good look at this face. We’re pretty sure you’ll be seeing a whole lot of these around.

Not content with launching three phones, Cherry Mobile had a little surprise to all those who attended the event: The Fusion Bolt. The little seven-incher is a surprising performer under the hood. It packs an A9 Quad-core processor running at a 1GHz clock speed, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.1.1 Jellybean and 8GB of internal memory, expandable to 32GB via microSD. The Fusion Bolt also gives you a pretty impressive 1280×800 IPS screen, a microUSB port, standard 3.5mm jack, as well as an internal speaker and microphone. Powering the little beast is a 4000mAh battery so you can keep going all day. The Fusion Bolt will be available at all Cherry Mobile kiosks, concept stores and dealers starting March, but the best part is the price tag. It’s yours for PHP 3,999. Better start camping out. This baby is going to go fast.

Suzuki launches fuel-injected Hayate 125 FI

    1

Suzuki Philippines is starting 2013 off quickly by releasing the Hayate 125 FI, which is the fuel-injected variation of the scooter-type Hayate 125. As a result, it has a smoother and more dependable engine due to the fuel injection.

With the Hayate 125 FI’s big engine displacement, along with its fuel injection, motorcycle operations will be powerful in any environmental condition and save fuel as well. The Hayate 125 FI also has the signature Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM), which guarantees optimal durability and heat conductivity.

The Hayate 125 FI also includes a dual headlight, a taillight that is inspired by the Suzuki GSX-R, a central locking system with a magnetic key shutter, and an original front side design inspired from Japan’s world famous bullet trains. In addition, there is more room for the rider and for their possessions—it has an 18 liter underseat compartment that can even fit a standard full-face helmet. The bike also has a front rack for more storage, and a bag hook that can hold up to 1.5 kg.

Its fuel injection allows the Hayate 125 FI to perform at an optimum level at all times. The bike’s 16 inch wheels provide additional stability on the road. The scooter’s muffler comes up to Euro III emissions standards, making its smoke less harmful to the environment.

The Hayate 125 FI is available now for PHP 82,900 in two colors—Candy Summer Red and Brilliant White. For more information on the Hayate 125 FI, you can go to any Suzuki Center or visit http://www.suzuki.com.ph.
