Mobile Legends: Bang Bang developer, Moontoon, has announced that the M4 World Championship will be held in Jakarta on January 1-15, 2023. There will be 16 international teams vying for the prestigious championship title and the lion’s share of the USD800,000 (more than PHP44 million) prize pool.
Moontoon has chosen Jakarta to be the host because Indonesia’s esports landscape has grown exponentially over the last few years. The local Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL Indonesia) hit a peak-concurrent viewership of 2.8 million during Season 9 and was the first esports league to implement the franchise system in the country, with the highest local prize pool of USD300,000 (more than PHP16 million).
From MPL Indonesia to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League (MDL), both the professional and amateur leagues have produced more than 300 local MLBB professional players and talents.
Esports and gaming fans can expect an array of in-game activities and on-ground campaigns for the M4 World Championship in Jakarta.
