October 25, the rumored date of the Nexus 5 launch, has come and gone, and the world remains waiting in bated breath for news of the newest Nexus Project phone. What was originally hoped to be the great unveil was, actually, an event that explained the new look and features of Google’s Play Store, which was reworked for Android 4.4 KitKat.

The good news, though, is that we now have a more solid idea of then the phone will arrive, thanks to rumors floating about the Internet. CNET has mentioned that the final announcement will happen around Halloween, specifically the 28th of October, and the phone itself will be available shortly after.

Even the specs are sort of up in the air at the moment (2GB or 3GB of RAM?), though they seemed to have settled somewhat, into a device that looks conspicuously like the LG G2, with whom the Nexus 5 shares a manufacturer.

To say we’re excited would be something of an understatement, though that’s being tempered slightly by our panic to find buyers of our current smartphones.
