Kingston releases SATA Rev 3 compliant HyperX SSD

Kingston has just released their blazing fast HyperX SSD, their first such offering based on SATA Rev 3 (which among other things, promises peak speeds up to 6 Gbps). Aimed squarely at enthusiasts that demand high performance SSD drives, the HyperX is able to achieve phenomenal sequential read/write throughputs of 555 / 510MB/s. The Kingston HyperX SSD features the latest SandForce controller and is designed for enthusiasts, gamers and performance users. The HyperX will be available in 120GB and 240GB capacities, and will ship as a standalone SSD (includes HyperX branded 2.5″ to 3.5″ desktop mounting plate); or as a bundle with the HyperX Upgrade Kit for easy installation (includes Acronis True Image HD migration software, desktop mounting plate, external drive bay, multi-head screwdriver, SATA data cable). There’s no word on price or availability yet, but if its performance is any indication, expect it to burn a pretty hole in your wallet.
