Five new Chevrolet Trailblazer variants have been launched locally courtesy of The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), the bowtie brand’s exclusive Philippine importer and distributor. Making their appearance during the 2015 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the new Trailblazers give Filipinos an expanded roster of midsize SUVs that are fit for a variety of lifestyles.
The new 4×2 LTX MT, 4×2 LT AT, 4×2 LTX AT, 4×4 LTZ AT, and 4×4 LTZ Special Edition (SE) AT variants come with either a second generation Duramax Turbo-diesel 2.8L engine producing 200hp of power @ 3600rpm and 500Nm of torque @ 2000rpm; or a 2.5L engine with 163hp output and 380Nm of pulling power. Both Duramax powerplants are mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox with Active Select.
While the “body in-wheels out” aesthetic and black “B” pillars are prominent in all Trailblazers, the 4×4 LTZ SE AT features new front and rear bumpers, LED projector headlamps and fog lamps, and daytime running lamps. Meanwhile, the 4×2 LT AT, 4×2 LTX MT, and 4×2 LTX AT will arrive with 18-inch alloy wheels.
The rugged exterior contrasts the Trailblazer’s high-end interior. The spacious cabin can seat up to 7-people comfortably and can fit any number of cargo thanks to foldable second and third row seats. For multimedia connectivity, the variants ship with an Android/iOS-compatible MyLink Infotainment System with Mobile Connect which mirrors the phone to a built-in touchscreen monitor.
Driver convenience is guaranteed by a new reversing camera with rear sensors, a rear view mirror with a 4.3-inch chromatic LCD and digital compass, and a new overview parking sensing monitor installed in the 4×2 LTX MT and AT, and 4×2 LT AT. On top of these, the 4×4 LTZ AT and 4×4 LTZ SE AT will come with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
The Trailblazer also comes with Dynamic Driving Technology combining safety features such as Anti-lock Brake System, Dynamic Brake Distribution, Traction Control, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Panic Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Engine Drag Control, Cornering Brake Control, Hydraulic Brake Fade Assist, Hill Descent Control, and Hill Start Assist. Additionally, the 4×2 LTX AT, 4×4 LTZ AT, and 4×4 LTZ SE AT comes with a dash camera with 32GB of memory for further peace of mind on the road.
Each Chevrolet Trailblazer is safeguarded by a three-year warranty plus a two-year extended warranty for the powertrain or 100,000 kilometers whichever comes first.
