AMD just blew the lid off of its latest GPU: the Radeon HD 7970 which the company has just proclaimed as the first one to use a 28nm GPU architecture. Scheduled to drop January 9th, this particular beast will set you back (in the US, at least) $549 bucks (or around Php 24,156). So what can you expect from that much cash? Well, AMD says that the Radeon HD 7970 925MHz engine clock that can be easily overclocked if you choose to, and will come with 2,048 stream processors and a hefty 3GB of GDDR5. Question is, will AMD reign supreme over NVIDIA’s upcoming 28nm Kepler GPU? We’ll have to see the benchmarks to be sure.
