    Mobility10th Generation Honda Civic Launched

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) recently launched a completely redesigned Honda Civic, the 10th generation of this iconic sedan.

Inspired by the “revolutionary silhouette advanced neo sedan” exterior design concept, the more aggressive exterior is accentuated by its low and wide stance, sleek and swept-back bodylines, and sharply defined character lines. Full LED headlights and LED daytime running lights complement the bold front fascia, while distinctive C-shaped LED tail lamps strengthen the brand identity.

The top-of-the-line variant, the Civic RS Turbo gets sportier treatment with 17-inch alloy wheels, gloss black front grille, wing type trunk spoiler, chrome door handles, LED fog lights and the RS emblem.

Under the hood, a DOHC VTEC turbo Engine delivers maximum torque of 22.0 kg-m at 1,700–5,500 rpm, and maximum power output of 173 ps at 5,500 rpm. For the Civic 1.8 E variant, the 1.8 liter engine produces maximum torque of 17.4 kg-m at 4,300 rpm, and maximum power output of 141 ps at 6,500 rpm.

Both engines boast powerful driving performance with uncompromised fuel efficiency, and are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Civic RS Turbo is also equipped with paddle shifters for sportier driving performance.

On the inside, the all-new Civic defines modern refinement, with a dynamic and wide cockpit design integrated with high class soft-touch materials. On the RS Turbo variant, the seats, steering wheel, and shift knob are in leather. The full-color instrument cluster includes a multi-information display that allows for quick browsing of vehicle speed, and other vehicle-related information. This is easily operated through a soft swipe on its electrostatic steering wheel controls.

The all-new Civic is equipped with a new 7-inch advanced display audio system (RS Turbo has an incorporated navigation system) that provides advanced touch controls, entertainment features, and smartphone connectivity. The Smart Key includes functionalities like the remote engine start function that conveniently starts the vehicle engine and turns on the auto climate control system from the outside; and the walk-away auto lock feature that automatically bolts all doors when the Smart Key is about 2.5 meters away from the vehicle.

In terms of safety, the Civic delivers class leading performance.  The new ace body design, and its low and wide platform contribute better torsion rigidity and above class crash safety. Its full suite of safety features includes driver and passenger SRS airbags (with side and side curtain airbags for the RS Turbo), vehicle stability assist (VSA), hill start assist (HSA), anti-lock braking system (ABS), emergency stop signal (ESS), multi-view reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, seat belt reminder, isofix and immobilizer.

Other new features in the all-new Civic are the electric parking brake (EPB), in place of the conventional pedal or handbrake lever. The auto break hold (ABH) incorporated in the EPB provides more convenience in different driving situations.

Since its first global debut in North America, the 10th generation Civic has already received a total of fourteen awards from leading institutions, including the prestigious 2016 North American Car of the Year, and 2016 Canadian Car of the Year awards.

The Honda Civic 1.8 E retails for PHP 1,088,000, while the Civic RS Turbo is priced at PHP 1,398,000. These are offered in cosmic blue metallic, midnight burgundy pearl, lunar silver metallic, white orchid pearl, rallye red (RS Turbo only), and modern steel metallic (1.8 E only).

All Honda car dealerships nationwide are now accepting reservations for the all-new Civic, with customer delivery to commence by June 2016.
