MANILA, Philippines, 6 March 2018 – Ford Philippines today announced its February retail sales rose 24 percent from a year ago to 1,860 vehicles driven by the Ranger, Everest and EcoSport. Ford’s year-to-date sales have increased 14 percent to 4,597 vehicles.
“We are starting to feel the impact of the new auto excise taxes, though still retain a positive outlook for 2018 in line with the country’s positive economic forecasts,” said Bertrand Lessard, managing director, Ford Philippines.
The segment-defining Ranger led the February performance with sales increasing 125 percent year-over-year to 886 vehicles. Year-to-date Ranger sales have risen 41 percent to 1,566 vehicles.
The Everest mid-size SUV achieved sales of 415 vehicles, pushing its year-to-date total up 13 percent to 1,409 vehicles. The Everest continues to have strong appeal among Filipino families as one of the smartest and safest vehicles in its segment.
The EcoSport compact-SUV delivered February sales of 477 vehicles, bringing year-to-date sales to 1,339 vehicles. The EcoSport has steadily attracted the young urban market with its features and capabilities perfect for city driving.
